MTA Subway Delays: 11 Lines See Big Delays Friday
Expect delays on the A, C, D, E, F, M, N, R, 3, 4 and 5 trains Friday.
NEW YORK CITY — Delays swamped the subways Friday after a Brooklyn straphanger was struck, a train broke down, and signal problems hit the West Side, officials said.
A straphanger hit by a train was seriously hurt at the 53rd Street station in Sunset Park, causing the MTA to turn off the third rail and delay R, N and D service, officials said.
Signal problems at the 14th Street station on Eighth Avenue brought A, C, and E trains to a halt about 7:40 a.m., according to the MTA.

Trains were running again about 20 minutes later, but transit officials warned on Twitter that New Yorkers should expect delays on the A, C, E, M and F lines.
Southbound 3 trains ran express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to Utica Avenue after a train broke down at Nostrand Avenue about 8:50 a.m., according to the MTA.

The Nostrand Avenue breakdown also caused congestion and delays on 4 or 5 trains, some of which were making their last stops at Bowling Green about 9 a.m.
