My Friend Cuomo Won't Run For NYC Mayor, Adams Says

New York City's accused sex pest mayor asserted Monday that the state's accused sex pest former governor isn't gunning for his job.

Mayor Eric Adams on Monday brushed off rumors that former Gov. Andrew Cuomo is eyeing a run for New York City's mayor.

"We talk often," Adams told La Mega radio Monday morning. "I don’t see him running for mayor."

Adams did acknowledge that Cuomo is looking at his next political move after his 2021 resignation amid a sexual harassment scandal.

Cuomo has forcefully denied the myriad accusations that prompted him to step down, and has signaled he's interested in a political comeback.

Murmurs of Cuomo's political return grew louder last week when Politico reported that his backers see a potential opening for him to seek the mayoralty amid Adams' woes, especially a federal investigation into his and his campaign's ties to Turkey.

The Politico report came before a woman filed a lawsuit against Adams accusing him of sexually assaulting her in 1993.

Adams has denied wrongdoing, both in the Turkey probe and the sexual assault accusation.

"It absolutely never happened," he said last week about the lawsuit.
