National Grid Rates In NYC Will Increase Again Next Month
On April 1, National Grid rates will increase by 5.1 percent in Brooklyn, Staten Island and parts of Queens.

NEW YORK CITY — New York City residents' gas bills will be going up again next month, according to National Grid.
On April 1, National Grid rates will increase by 5.1 percent in Brooklyn, Staten Island and parts of Queens, PIX11 reported. Meaning, a customer’s monthly bill will increase by $9.61.
On Long Island and the Rockaway Peninsula, resident's bills will increase 4.4 percent.

It’s the second of three consecutive National Grid rate increases approved by the New York State Public Service Commission last August, according to the report.
National Grid has said that bill increases will help pay for residential weatherization and energy efficiency programs, support for low and moderate-income customers, increased language access, and upgraded infrastructure, among other things.

The first phase of increases saw city customers' bill bump up to $30 per month.
The final rate increase will come in April 2026, raising New York City bills an additional 11.1 percent, according to National Grid.
In total, monthly bills will increase about $61.88 per month, according to the report.
