New York City Snow Totals: How Much Of The White Stuff Fell Thursday?

NEW YORK, NY — The warnings were dire, and the predictions were big — and after all was said and done, the prognostications about how much snow would fall during Thursday's snowstorm in New York City were pretty close. Now that the blowing, torrential snow has given way to sunny, blue skies, it's a good time to take stock and see just how much snow fell yesterday across the city.

The National Weather Service's spotters around the city took measurements of snowfall at various locations. Here were their final tallies, with the time and number of inches measured:

Bronx County

• 2 NNW Bronx, 12.5 inches, 3:24 p.m.
• Bronx Zoo, 10.6 inches, 3:15 p.m.
• 1 ENE Unionport, 9.5 inches, 5:15 p.m.

Kings County

• Midwood, 10 inches, 5 p.m.
• Marine Park, 9.5 inches, 4 p.m.
• Sheepshead Bay, 9 inches, 4:30 a.m.
• Clinton Hill, 8.5 inches, 3:10 p.m.
• Bergen Beach, 7 inches, 6 p.m.

New York County

• Central Park, 9.4 inches, 4 p.m.

Queens County

• 1 WSW Walden Terrace, 10.6 inches, 3:16 p.m.
• LaGuardia, 10 inches, 4 p.m.
• Cedar Manor, 11.8 inches, 5:30 p.m.
• Middle Village, 11.5 inches, 4 p.m.
• Whitestone, 10 inches, 7 p.m.
• JFK, 8.3 inches, 4 p.m.
