  1. According to a new study, nearly one in ten of New York State's bridges are 'structurally deficient.' In the city, that includes bridges along major thoroughfares including The Belt, Grand Central and Henry Hudson Parkways, and the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. (New York City Patch)
  2. Governor Kathy Hochul asked Con Edison to review and reform its supply chain, after New Yorkers were shocked to see steep hikes in their monthly bills from the utilities provider. She also referenced the Home Energy Assistance Program, which helps economically burdened New Yorkers. Apparently a price hike was predicted back in October. (Gothamist)
  3. Repairs are severely overdue at a public library in the East Village that has been without properly functioning fire alarms for over a decade. And it's not the only one — across the New York Public Library system repairs are few and far between. (The City)
  4. A 35-year-old woman, Christina Yuna Lee, was found dead from stab wounds in her apartment early on Sunday morning. Police believe that a man had followed her home leading up to the incident, although the details are unclear. Community members, including local politicians, fear this is the latest in a series of anti-Asian hate crimes in the area. (amNY)
  5. All five borough presidents are in agreement on a goal to plant one million new trees across the city by 2030. They plan to meet with Mayor Eric Adams, who pledged to dedicate one percent of the city's budget to parks, about it today. (Subscription: New York Times Free: CBS New York)
