The NYC Chain Retailers Closing For Thanksgiving

NEW YORK CITY – The biggest shopping occasion of the year is almost here. But if you plan to hit the stores soon after you've recovered from your Thanksgiving food coma, know that many retailers in NYC plan to stay closed on Turkey Day.

A list compiled by BestBlackFriday.com tallying the stores closed on Thanksgiving has found that dozens of retailers will be closed on Nov. 28.

BestBlackFriday.com says it confirmed each store's closed status with a representative or PR contact. The list also includes big-name grocery stores, including Trader Joe's, that will be closed on Thanksgiving.

The common theme BestBlackFriday.com found was that most retailers staying closed on Thanksgiving were doing so to allow employees to spend time with their families.
