NYC Remains Coronavirus Free, Test Results Show
The city has seen seven suspected cases of the virus, but tests have now all come back negative.
NEW YORK CITY — New York City is coronavirus free, at least for the time being.
Test results for every suspected case in the city have now come back negative, the health department announced Wednesday.
Health chiefs had isolated seven patients in NYC since the outbreak began. All have now been cleared.

New York remains on high alert for the illness, officially named by the World Health Organization as COVID-19 Tuesday. Mayor Bill de Blasio has said the first case will come to the city "sooner rather than later."

More than 1,100 people have now been killed by the virus, the majority being in China.
