NYC Subway Delays: Trains Delayed On 9 Lines, MTA Says

The MTA warned New Yorkers to expect delays during rush hour Friday on nine subway lines.

NEW YORK CITY — Straphangers faced longer than usual commutes Friday as mechanical problems plagued subways across the city, the MTA said.

The MTA told New Yorkers to expect long waits for 2, 3, A, B, C, D, G, N and R trains during rush hour Friday.

In Manhattan, a train with door problems had to be removed from 34th Street-Penn Station, said the MTA.

Brooklyn saw delays on the northbound C line after a train broke down on Euclid Avenue, northbound D trains because of a door problem at Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue, Queens-bound G trains stalled by a Church Avenue breakdown, and slowed D, N and R trains because of a 36th Street switch malfunction, the MTA said.

Queens commuters saw delays on the A line in both directions after trains broke down at Lefferts Boulevard and Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue.

This is the second day in the row more than a half dozen trains experienced serious delays. Yesterday nine lines were stalled by technical malfunctions.
