- NYC's iconic taxis will now be listed on Uber's app, the company confirmed Thursday. The Taxi And Limousine Commission hopes the move will benefit both drivers and riders alike. (New York City Patch)
- Unvaccinated sports players will now be able to compete in NYC games, despite an otherwise withstanding vaccine mandate for city workers, according to an executive order announced by Mayor Adams Thursday. That includes Brooklyn Nets player Kyrie Irving. (New York City Patch)
- Thirty-three NYC neighborhoods will see a new investment in maternal healthcare, specifically aimed at Black women. The city is expanding its doula program, by training at least 50 new doulas, who provide physical and emotional support during and after pregnancy. Black women are nine times more likely to die in connection to pregnancy, in comparison to white women. (New York City Patch)
- In a rare move, the Department of Homeless Services moved to scrap its plans to develop a new homeless shelter in the Morris Park neighborhood of The Bronx, amidst widespread community opposition. The shelter's would-be landlord has a long history of appearing to profit off of shelters throughout the city. (The City)
- A man was found guilty of murder by a Queens jury in a case involving a 2016 attempted robbery that resulted in one person's death by stabbing. He now could face life in prison. (Patch)
