NYC Weather: 40 MPH Winds Expected To Batter City
New Yorkers could see nasty wind gusts throughout Wednesday and into Thursday, the National Weather Service warns.

NEW YORK — The Big Apple could become the Windy City on Wednesday with wind gusts as strong as 40 MPH due to batter New Yorkers, the National Weather Service warns.
Gales ranging from 30 to 40 MPH are expected to slam the entire tri-state region throughout the day and may continue into Thursday, the weather service says.
The winds have the potential to bring down small tree limbs and maybe even some power lines, according to a special weather statement issued Wednesday morning.

The gusts will come as the temperature in the city drops from the low 40s into the high 30s, making it feel between 30 and 35 degrees during the day, the weather service says.
Thursday will be more frigid with wind gusts as strong as 34 MPH and wind chill values between 15 and 25 degrees, the forecast says.
