NYC Weather: Heavy Rain To Soak City This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY – More than an inch of rain will leave New York City drenched this weekend in a deluge expected to start Saturday night.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service say Friday's showers are expected to dry up during the evening, leaving most of Saturday sunny.

But heavy rain will arrive Saturday night, with up to three quarters of an inch expected. Another half an inch will fall Sunday.

The rain will pass Sunday night, with Thansgiving week looking pleasant, the service said. Thanksgiving Day is forecast to be sunny and reasonably warm.

Showers likely, mainly before 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 48 by 5pm. West wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
