A significant storm threatens to wallop New York City with heavy rain and strong winds for the second-straight Sunday, according to AccuWeather.
"This next storm coming up the Eastern Seaboard will have similar characteristics to the one that slammed the mid-Atlantic and Northeast with heavy rain and wind just days ago," said Joe Lundberg, senior meteorologist for AccuWeather, in a report by the service.

Up to 2 inches of rain could fall Sunday evening, which carries a 100 percent chance of precipitation, after a sunny and dry Saturday, the National Weather Service's forecast states.
Rain is likely mainly after 2 p.m. that day, with wind gusts as high as 21 mph, according to the forecast.

The storm system itself lacks cold air, meaning areas outside of New York City will be drenched in rain instead of blanketed with snow, unlike last weekend, AccuWeather reported.
