NYC Weather: Nor'easter Threatens 7th Rainy Weekend For City
Remember Labor Day? That was New York City's last dry weekend.
NEW YORK CITY — Rain looks to wash out New Yorkers' plans for the seventh weekend in a row, forecasters warned.
A potential nor'easter threatens to swamp New York City this weekend, according to an AccuWeather report.
Even if a full-fledged nor'easter doesn't develop, the city is likely to see rain starting Friday and into Saturday from a widespread storm system, the report states.

The wet forecast is likely to put a damper on New Yorkers' moods after a streak of weekend soakers.
"The last time there was widespread dry weather in the Northeast on the weekend was way back around the Labor Day holiday," the AccuWeather report states.

New York City has received roughly 175 percent of its historical average rainfall since July 1, AccuWeather reported.
Four of five July weekends and half August's weekends saw rain, the report states.
And in recent weeks, Central Park saw rain on 10 of the last 12 weekend days, according to AccuWeather.
How the potential nor'easter affects New York City and the Northeast, is still unclear, the AccuWeather report states.
"Which areas get hit the hardest by the effects of rain and wind will depend on the track and strength of the storm, but there is the likelihood of a thorough soaking in parts of the northeast U.S. and Atlantic Canada this weekend," said Adam Douty, a senior meteorologist for AccuWeather, in a report by the service.
