NYC Weather: Overnight Snow Could Create Rough Morning Commute

A mix of rain and snow is expected to coat the city early Thursday morning.

NEW YORK — Get ready for a slippery subway ride. Snow and rain are expected to hit New York City overnight, possibly creating a rough Thursday morning commute, according to the National Weather Service.

Flakes could start falling late Wednesday night but will most likely hit after 11 p.m., the weather service says. They'll be joined by rain in the early morning hours before the precipitation dissipates after 6 a.m., according to the forecast.

Less than half an inch of snow is expected to accumlate, the weather service says. But the mix of precipitation could still be enough to make for wet rush-hour travel on Thursday morning.
