  1. Violence over the weekend in New York City took at least six lives, including 35-year-old Chinatown resident Christina Yuna Lee. That's not all–a cop was also shot in the foot, two teenagers were accused of attempted murder, and a woman died from a traffic accident in Brooklyn. (New York City Patch)
  2. A reduced-fare MetroCard program for low-income New Yorkers is here to stay. Mayor Eric Adams announced on Monday that the program, know as "fair fares," would be allocated $75 million in the city's annual budget. The program offers 50% off rides for residents making below the federal poverty line. (New York City Patch)
  3. Starting on Monday, COVID-19 at-home tests are available at 27 public library branches and 14 cultural sites across New York City. They will be distributed first-come, first-served, and one per person. (CBS New York City)
  4. A New York federal judge announced he would be dismissing a case brought by Sarah Palin against the New York Times, which alleged that a 2017 op-ed had caused her harm. The judge made the announcement before the jury in the case had come to a verdict. (New York City Patch)
  5. An Amtrak Acela high-speed train got off to a slow start on Monday, after being stalled for nearly seven hours in Long Island City on its way to Moynihan Train Hall. (New York City Patch)
