‘The Phantom of the Opera’ Set For NYC Return With New Immersive Show

"The Phantom of the Opera"​ was the longest-running show in Broadway history.​

NEW YORK CITY — “The Phantom of the Opera” is set to return to New York City with a new “immersive” theatrical experience after its last show on Broadway two years ago, according to a report.

The new show will open in early July at the old Lee’s Art Shop building on West 57th Street, according to a Page Six report.

It will open with the name “Masquerade,” based on one of the show’s signature songs, according to the report.

Production insiders told the outlet that the show will be an interactive theatrical experience based on Andrew Lloyd Webber's original musical.

"The Phantom of the Opera” closed on Broadway in April 2023 after a 35-year run and was the longest-running show in Broadway history.

The show first opened in London’s West End in 1986.

A teaser site for the show has appeared online, giving fans the opportunity to join an email list.
