NEW YORK, NY — National weather officials have warned New Yorkers to brace themselves for a possibly "severe" thunderstorm expected to travel over the five boroughs between 4:15 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Monday, July 25.
Pretty cute, right? And best of all, Monday's severe thunderstorm warning arrives amid an existing heat advisory in New York City. The advisory warned of temperatures in the mid-90s that — because of insane humidity levels — would feel more like 100 to 105 degrees.

"While the thunderstorms will briefly knock down temperatures over the communities they cross, the heat relief will only be temporary," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski predicted Monday in a grave report.
"For those looking for relief from the heat in the Northeast, it is not looking good," Senior Meteorologist Dave Samuhel added.
Indeed: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be nearly as hot and humid as Monday, without random sky tantrums to chill everything down, according to the NWS.
The weekend forecast, however, is showing (slightly) cooler temps in the upper 80s and some more possible thunderstorms. Because, you know, summer in New York.
