Subway Musicians Will Play Mozart Live in Three Stations Friday

The live performances will start off the Lincoln Center's month-long Mostly Mozart Festival.

Classical music buff commuters in New York City will note (pun intended) a special treat on the subway this week. MTA's musicians in the subways program, Music Under New York, will have some of its performers play Mozart's pieces at three subway stations on Friday as part of the Lincoln Center's upcoming five-week Mozart festival.

The performances will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fulton Center and Times Square-42nd Street stations, and the new TurnStyle mall at 59 Street-Columbus Circle.

"This reminds us of the wonderful place that New York is, that you can hear Mozart as you travel without buying a concert ticket or even taking a detour on your commute," said Sandra Bloodworth, Director of MTA Arts & Design.
