Suspects Sought After Vandalizing NYPD Vehicles At NYC Car Meetup

NEW YORK CITY — Three NYPD vehicles were vandalized by a group of people during an alleged car meetup in Queens, police said on Monday.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. on Sunday, near Rockaway Boulevard and 97th Ave. in Ozone Park.

Video circulating on social media showed vandals surrounding the vehicles and breaking windows with traffic cones. The cars were left dented with some other damage, police said.

Two of the NYPD vehicles damaged were unmarked.

Three suspects were later arrested in the Bronx following the incident, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance photos on Sunday of other suspects still being sought.

Tristian Nandram, 18, faces criminal mischief, obstructing governmental administration, petty larceny and possession of stolen property charges, police said.

Jordi Montesquieu, 23, of Massachusetts, and Tyler Newman, 18, of New Hampshire were also arrested following the incident.

“We will not tolerate lawlessness or vandalism aimed at the police,” NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said on X after the incident.
