NEW YORK CITY — Emma and Liam remain the king and queen of New York City's babies.
Of the 114,296 babies born in the five boroughs in 2018 - the most recent year that data is available – those two names were the most popular, according to the city's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
It's the second year that Emma was the favorite, but more New York City boys have been called Liam than any other name for the past four years.

You're much less likely to meet a girl called Aminah, Ida or Zadie or a boy called Bentley, Lucian or Warren – less than 10 parents each chose those names.
The number of babies born in 2018 compared to 2017 dropped 2.3%– from 117,013 births to 114,296.
