Where To Watch The Oscars In New York City

If you'd rather get out of the apartment on Sunday night, here are some options you have around the city.

NEW YORK, NY — If you don't feel like hosting an Oscars watch party in your tiny apartment, or you're looking for an excuse to go out on a Sunday night, several bars across New York City are hosting watch parties, many with drink specials, open bars and other festivities.

We've compiled a list of the bars that we've seen so far that have announced plans for an Oscars watch party. If you know of a bar that we missed, send us an email at patch_nyc@patch.com, and we'll be sure it gets added to the list.

Berg'n, Crown Heights

The Brooklyn beer hall will have a viewing party from 7 to 11 p.m. Sunday. Specific drink specials and other info about the evening was not available on the bar's website.

Le Poisson Rouge, West Village

The Big Quiz Thing is setting up shop at the lower Manhattan art space for a special Oscars trivia night. The trivia starts at 5:30 p.m., and tickets cost $15 at the door or $10 ahead of time. LPR will be showing the awards show after trivia.

Littlefield, Gowanus

Presented by The Skint, the Gowanus performance space will host a free screening party, with doors opening at 6:45 p.m. People who RSVP can get a free champagne toast, too.

Northern Territory, Greenpoint

The rooftop Brooklyn bar is hosting a watch party with free admission and "Taste Of Streep" giveaways.

Q.E.D., Astoria

"Dust off your party clothes and hit the red carpet for the Oscars at QED, co-hosted by Trivia NYC," says an event page on the website for the self-proclaimed "after-school space for grown-ups." A $12 admission fee gets you a trivia ballot, all-you-can-eat popcorn and other snacks.

Syndicated, Flatbush

The Brookly bar/movie theater is selling $10 table seats and $15 theater seats to watch the awards. Seating at the bar is first come, first served basis.

Viceroy Central Park, Midtown

The roof-top bar is serving Oscar-themed cocktails and giving away free popcorn to watch party guests.

Village Pourhouse, East Village

The neighborhood joint will have a $40 open bar for two hours during the awards show.
