NYPD officials Sunday asked the public to help identify the woman, who they said slapped a 31-year-old man on the Brooklyn Bridge's footpath about 6:15 p.m. the previous day.
She is described as a woman with brown eyes, long brown hair, about 5 feet 7 inches in height and roughly 30 years old. She was last seen wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and sunglasses.
The NYPD's hate crime task force is investigating the incident, police said.
The incident is one of many potential hate crimes directed both Jewish and Palestinian New Yorkers since the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas against Israel.
