Woman Stabbed In Neck With Broken Bottle, Suspect In Custody

NEW YORK CITY — A woman was stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle following an apparent unprovoked attack in Manhattan on Monday, police said.

The incident happened in Soho around 3 p.m. near the corner of Wooster and Broome streets.

An unidentified man allegedly came up behind a 25-year-old woman who was walking down the street and stabbed her, police said.

The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

According to a New York Post report, the suspect threw the bottle at another woman before attacking the 25-year-old victim.

The alleged suspect was taken into custody a short distance from the scene, police said. He has yet to be identified.
