4 Injured In Morning Crash That Kept Route 303 Closed

A box truck and a Nissan Pathfinder with children on board collided in Valley Cottage, police said.

CLARKSTOWN, NY — A crash at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday hospitalized four people, two of them children, and closed Route 303.

At 4:20 p.m., Clarkstown police said Route 303 from Lake Road to N. Palisades Center Drive will remain closed until the Accident Investigation Team concludes their work.

The crash took place at Hillside Lane in Valley Cottage. Officers responded along with the Valley Cottage Fire Department, Rockland Medics and Congers-VC Community Ambulance.

The first vehicle involved was a black Nissan Pathfinder. The driver, 31, and the two children, a 1-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy, were treated at the scene and transported to an area hospital.

The second driver, of a white Ford commercial box truck, had to be extricated by firefighters. He was treated at the scene and transported to an area hospital via ambulance.

In regard to the injuries sustained by the occupants of both vehicles, no further information is available at this time, police said.
