Investigation Launched After Man’s Body Found In Suffern Quarry
The body of a 57-year-old man was discovered Monday afternoon, officials said.
SUFFERN, NY — An investigation is underway after a man’s body was found floating in the Suffern Quarry Monday.
Suffern police and fire officials were on scene around 4:45 p.m. Monday and retrieved the victim from the water.
Mayor Michael F. Curley said the body was brought to the county coroner’s office for an autopsy.

According to Curley, the victim is a 57-year-old male, and the police department is working on contacting his next of kin.
As of mid-day Wednesday, officials had not yet released the victim’s identity.

“It does not appear to be suspicious but we will know more after the coroner’s report and further investigation,” Curley said, in an announcement.
