Police: Traffic Violations Lead to DWI Charge on Route 59

A Spring Valley resident spotted driving erratically on Route 59 has been charged with drunken driving, according to the Rockland County Sheriff's Department.

Police said Lesly Audate, 33, was stopped at 4:14 a.m. on Wednesday in Spring Valley by a Sheriff's officer and was found to be intoxicated. In addition, police said Audate's driver's license was found to be suspended and the car involved had a suspended registration.

In addition to several traffic violations, Audate was charged with driving while intoxicated, third-degree aggravated operation of a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration. Audate was taken to the Sheriff's Headquarters in New City and later released pending a May 16 hearing in Spring Valley Justice Court.
