HV Flood: Ramapo River Flood Warning Extended For Orange, Rockland
It is in effect until 5 p.m. Tuesday.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The Ramapo River is expected to rise to a crest of 8.9 feet near Mahwah, New Jersey by Monday afternoon. The river hit flood stage, 8 feet, at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, the National Weather Service said.

Flooding is possible along Route 202 and Route 17, with water into backyards and minor flooding along streets.

At 9.0 feet, State Route 202 floods downstream, according to the National Weather Service.
The river is expected to fall below flood stage late Tuesday morning. This crest compares to a previous crest of 8.9 feet on Nov. 12, 1995.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
"Turn around, don't drown" when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
