Storm Closes Roads Across Clarkstown: Police

Police asked residents to avoid unnecessary travel.

CLARKSTOWN, NY — Clarkstown police reported several roads closed Monday morning due to flooding and/or downed wires.

"Due to current weather conditions causing closures on Route 303 & Route 59, Congers Rd (the Causeway) between New City and Congers, and a number of side streets, please refrain from an unnecessary travel at this time," police said on Facebook at 6 a.m.

  • Rt 59 at PCM - flooding
  • N/B Rt 9W - Rt 303 to Rt 304 Congers - flooded
  • Rt 303 - Stratford & Lakeward Ave- wires down / flooding
  • Congers Rd between Stonewall and Garrett- wires down
  • Strawtown Rd - Rockford and McCarthy - tree down
  • Intersection Ludvigh and Schweizer - tree down
  • Stonehedge at Germonds - tree down
  • Congers Rd (causeway) - flooding

Ramapo police posted these road closings before 8 a.m.:

  • Rt 17 from Auntie Els through the turn around by Davis Sport Shop
  • Route 17 in front of Jessie's Bagels in Sloatsburg
  • Rt 202 from Lake Rd to Viola School
  • Willow Tree Rd to Grandview Ave to Rt 306
  • Spook Rock Rd from W Carlton to 202
  • S Monsey Rd to Saddle River Rd
