Sun, Warmth Give Way To Snow, Rain In The Hudson Valley
Bask while you can. Here are the details.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — It'll stay sunny until the weekend, and though the clouds will begin rolling in Saturday, high temperatures will hit the mid-50s.
"Those temperatures are about 15 to 20 degrees above average for the first half of February," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.
But don't thank the groundhog.

"It’s False Spring! Winter returns next week," said Bruce Furbeck of First Due Weather. "The signals emanating from our teleconnections suggest a colder than average period arrives and it may extend into mid March or longer. With colder air in place, it will ripen potential for wintry events, should any develop."
AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist and Lead U.S. Long-Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok continues to maintain that a pattern will develop by mid-February supporting more wintry, colder weather for the eastern half of the nation, especially the Northeast and mid-Atlantic.

Rain and snow are possible Monday and Tuesday next week from Westchester to Ulster. Some parts of the Hudson Valley could even see 3 inches of the white stuff, Furbeck said.
