Winter Storm Warnings: Hudson Valley Could See Up To 9 Inches Of Snow
The National Weather Service forecast is now calling for heavy snowfall across much of the region, beginning Sunday afternoon .

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Forecasters are calling for heavy snowfall across much of the Hudson Valley, beginning Sunday afternoon, with between six to nine inches predicted.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Dutchess and Ulster counties, with heavy snow expected to start around 1 p.m. on Sunday and continue through Monday morning. Up to nine inches of snow are expected. Stairs, sidewalks and driveways could be icy and slippery. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, are expected to become slick and hazardous. Drivers are advised to slow down and use caution.
Rockland, Putnam, Northern Westchester and Orange counties are also under Winter Storm Warnings, beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Between five to seven inches of snow are expected before tapering off on Monday morning. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, are expected to become slick and hazardous. Drivers are advised to keep a flashlight, food and water in their vehicles, in case of emergency.

Southern Westchester is under a Winter Weather Advisory from 1 p.m. on Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday, with up to six inches of snow possible. Drivers should be prepared for slippery road conditions, and are advised to slow down and use caution.
The snow will usher in single digit temperatures across the Hudson Valley, with windchill factors below zero in many areas. Frigid temperatures are expected to stick around into next week.
