New Hyde Park: Early Voting Sites, Times For '21 General Election
Where and when to cast your early votes in New Hyde Park, plus a look at other pertinent Election Day information.
NEW HYDE PARK, NY — Early voting ends Sunday, Oct. 31 in Nassau County for the 2021 general election. And New Hyde Park residents can vote in person or by absentee ballot.
Registered voters can use any of the early voting sites (found below) except on Tuesday, Nov. 2, when they must vote at their assigned polling location.
The following is a list of early voting locations. Sites in and around New Hyde Park are bolded:

The dates and times for early voting are:
- Oct. 23: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Oct. 24: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Oct. 25: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Oct. 26-28: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Oct. 29: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Oct. 30: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Oct. 31: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If you can't be in Nassau County on Election Day, you may apply for an absentee ballot.
You can request an absentee ballot if you are:
- Unable to appear at the polls due to illness or disability;
- A patient in a Veterans Health Administration Hospital; or
- Detained in jail/prison awaiting trial, awaiting action by a Grand Jury, or in prison for a conviction of a crime or offense which is not a felony.

Upon completion, applications must be mailed to the Nassau County Board of Elections no later than a week before the election, or delivered in person no later than the day before the election.
You can also request an absentee ballot by sending a letter to the county's elections board. It must be received by officials no later than a week before the election. The letter must have the following information:
- The address where you are registered
- An address where the ballot is to be sent
- The reason for the request
- The signature of the voter
According to the elections board, an application form will be mailed with your ballot. The form must be completed and returned with your ballot. If you cannot pick up your ballot, or will not be able to receive it through the mail, you can designate someone to pick it up for you. Only that person designated on your application can pick up your ballot.

New Hyde Park residents who are unsure of their registration status can either call the Nassau County Board of Elections at 571-VOTE (8683) or search the State Board of Elections database.

New Hyde Park voters can vote for people running for different offices, including the county executive, county legislators, and the Town of North Hempstead's supervisor.
