BRIEF: Hampton Jitney is Running on North Fork

Bus company announces that regular schedule is in place starting on Monday.

The Hampton Jitney is back in service as usual after shutting down service Saturday night at 6:40 p.m. A bus left Greenport bound for New York City at 4:45 a.m. Monday morning.

The company's website is also up and running and phone lines are back in operation for reservations as of about 11 a.m. Monday, said Hampton Jitney spokesperson Carly Shephard, who added that the fleet of busses was not damaged by the storm.

The Hamptons-based motor coach service operates 365 days per year between the North and South Forks of Long Island and Metro New York. Go to the Hampton Jitney's website for more information.
