"It is with great sadness that the Chiefs announce that 59-ear member and ex-Commissioner Robert Doroski has answered his last alarm," the Cutchogue Fire Department wrote.

Doroski joined the CFD in March of 1963 as the department's 268th member, the CFD said.

He served as a Fire Commissioner of the Cutchogue Fire District from 1986 to 1996 and continued to remain active on the CFD Fire Police Squad.
