LONG ISLAND, NY — Mother Nature sent howling wind gusts across Long Island Sunday, reaching a high of 60 miles per hour in some areas.

Here's a rundown of how high the winds were in various areas across Long Island, according to the National Weather Service.

Weather across Long Island Monday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 44 degrees. Wind chill values will make it feel between 25 and 35 degrees. A west wind of 15 to 17 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 33 miles per hour, can be expected.

Tuesday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 47 degrees, and a west wind of 9 to 11 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 21 mph, the NWS said.

Tuesday night is forecast to be mostly cloudy, with a low of around 33 degrees. A west wind of around 6 mph is expected, becoming calm in the evening, the NWS said.
