LONG ISLAND, NY — Independence Day falls on a Friday in 2025, kicking off a star-spangled three-day weekend packed with fireworks, festivals and other Fourth of July fun in and around Long Island.

To help you fit it all in on your 4th of July calendar, Patch has put together a guide to what’s going on around Long Island.

  • Where: The Polo Grounds at Moores Lane
  • When: The annual Greenport Fire Department's Relief Hose and Phenix Hook & Ladder Co. Annual Carnival takes place from Tuesday, July 1 to Saturday, July 5, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Fireworks on Wednesday and Saturday, July 2 and 5.

Orient

What: Orient Harbor Fireworks

  • Where: Orient Harbor
  • When: Sat, July 12 at 9:15 p.m.

This year's Orient Harbor July 4th Fireworks Show is brought to you by the Orient Harbor July 4th Festivities, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

"We are looking forward to this year’s celebration!" organizers said. "Please donate now. Donations are tax-deductible. We greatly appreciate the interest in our show. We are happy to announce that we have resumed fundraising. Donations are now being accepted for the 2025 show."

What: 27th Annual Southold Village Merchants' July 4 Parade

  • Where: Main Road, Southold
  • When: July 4 at noon

The 27th Annual Southold Village Merchants' July 4 Parade kicks off on Main Road in Southold and wends its way from Boisseau Avenue to Tuckers Lane in a burst of patriotic red, white and blue.

Shelter Island

What: Shelter Island Fireworks

  • Where: Crescent Beach, Shelter Island Heights
  • When: Saturday, July 12 at 9 p.m.

The beloved tradition continues on Crescent Beach this year. Rain date, July 13.

Riverhead

What: Riverhead Raceway 75th Anniversary - Flying Dutchman Tribute With Fireworks

  • Where: Riverhead Raceway, 1797 Old Country Road, Riverhead
  • When: June 28 beginning at 4 p.m.

A historic celebration of 75 years of racing at Riverhead Raceway! Special 74-lap Modified feature as part of the Ted Christopher Crown Jewel Series, plus fireworks and Big Wheel races. Grandstands: 4 p.m. Ceremonies: 6 p.m. For additional information, click here.

What: Riverhead 'Alive on 25' With Fireworks

  • Where: Downtown Riverhead
  • When: "Alive on 25 is the heart of summer in Riverhead, bringing together music lovers, foodies, and families. Our festival is a testament to the vibrant community spirit that thrives in downtown Riverhead. Join us for an unforgettable experience that captures the essence of summer fun."

The event takes place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fireworks will take place at 9:15 p.m. The free festival also takes place on August 1.

Westhampton Beach

What: Westhampton Country Club Fireworks

  • Where: Westhampton Country Club
  • When: Fri, July 4 at 9 p.m.

This is a private event held at the Westhampton Country Club on Potunk Lane, but the whole community enjoys the spectacular display of Grucci dazzlers each year, lining up on the streets to watch.

North Sea

What: North Sea Fire Department Carnival

  • Where: Firemen's Field, 27 Straight Path, Southampton
  • When: The popular North Sea Fire Department Carnival is back this year from July 1 to July 5, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the North Sea Fire Department, 27 Straight Path in Southampton. Rides, food and games for the whole family.

Southampton

What: Southampton Fresh Air Home's America Picnic With Fireworks by Grucci Over Shinnecock Bay

  • Where: 1610 Meadow Lane, Southampton
  • When: Saturday, June 28 at 7 p.m.

"There is no summer tradition we anticipate with more excitement than the Southampton Fresh Air Home’s American Picnic with Fireworks by Grucci," organizers aid. "Our 38th Annual American Picnic benefit is scheduled for Saturday, June 28th at 7:00 p.m. at a new location: 1610 Meadow Lane. This year, our gracious hosts and Honorary Chairmen will be Margie and Michael Loeb who will welcome SFAH’s supporters to their beautiful oceanfront estate. Festivities will include a spectacular firework display over Shinnecock Bay, a delicious BBQ dinner, cocktails, a pizza truck, a taco truck; a fun filled carnival with arcade games, crafts, stilt walkers, popcorn and cotton candy; live music and a silent disco."

What: Sag Harbor Yacht Club's John A. Ward Fireworks

  • Where: Marine Park, Sag Harbor
  • When: Saturday, July 5 at 9:30 p.m.

Watch the Sag Harbor Yacht Club's John A. Ward Fireworks from Marine Park. Watch the fireworks from your boat, deck, car, or beach. Tune into WLNG 92.1 FM and enjoy the music to the fireworks provided by Grucci.

What: Southampton Village Independence Day Parade

  • Where: Southampton Village
  • When: 10 a.m. on July 4

The Commission on Veterans Patriotic Events holds its annual Independence Day Parade in Southampton Village. The parade leaves from Railroad Plaza and continues down North Main, Main Street, and Jobs Lane in Southampton Village.

East Hampton

What: East Hampton Fire Department Fireworks

  • Where: Main Beach
  • When: The East Hampton Fire Department will be hosting its annual Main Beach fireworks show on August 16. The show will start at dark, between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

What: Devon Yacht Club Fireworks

  • Where: The event is private but you can watch from Fresh Pond Beach
  • When: Saturday, July 5 at 9:15 p.m.


What: Clamshell Foundation's Fireworks Over 3 Mile Harbor

  • Where: 3 Mile Harbor, East Hampton
  • When: Saturday, July 12 at 9 p.m.

As the sky explodes in color and light this year, The Clamshell Foundation's annual Fireworks Show over 3 Mile Harbor holds special meaning, organizers said.

"We are dedicating this spectacular event to the memory of Meghan Payne, an incredible woman whose light touched so many," they said.

What: Stars Over Montauk 4th of July Fireworks over Umbrella Beach

"Come out and enjoy our Stars Over Montauk Fireworks Display by Grucci on everyone’s favorite summer occasion! Hosted by the Montauk Chamber of Commerce and Visit Montauk, this annual fireworks show takes place off of Umbrella Beach and is a crowd favorite! Show begins at 9 p.m. Rain date for this event will be Sunday, July 6."

  • Where: Crab Meadow Beach, Waterview St. W., Fort Salonga

Info: The Village of Asharoken said there is NO PUBLIC AREA to watch the firework show and NO PARKING in the village. People can watch the show from Crab Meadow Beach, James Street or Ocean Avenue in Northport. Or people can watch on a boat in Northport Bay or the Long Island Sound.
