Kids In Mattituck-Cutchogue Union Free School District Head Back On First Day With Big Smiles
High school students with a permit were able to park at the high school, and, in a time-honored tradition, brought decorated vehicles.

NORTH FORK, NY — Under sparkling blue skies, kids headed back to classes on the first day of school at the Mattituck-Cutchogue Union Free School District on September 2.

As students approached Mattituck Jr. Sr. High School and Cutchogue East Elementary School in buses, cars or on foot, they were greeted with big smiles by administrators, faculty, staff and members of the Southold Police Department.

As a rite of passage, seniors who obtained a valid parking permit were allowed to park at the high school. To mark the special occasion, the students pulled up to the parking lot with colorfully decorated automobiles.
