LI Snow Forecast For Monday: What To Expect
Mother Nature is set to send some snow toward Long Island Monday; here's what to expect.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Snow is headed toward Long Island Monday, but those hoping for a snow day are likely to be disappointed.
David Stark, meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Upton, told Patch: "It's not going to be a big deal at all. Nothing too crazy or impactful."
Light snow is expected to fall Monday morning, with some flurries expected into early afternoon. As the day progresses into mid-afternoon, only a coating of snow, about a half inch in some spots, is expected, he said.

The storm is passing to the south of Long Island, with locations in southern New Jersey, Washington DC and Delaware slated to get accumulations of up to about 8 inches, Stark said.
"If you're a snow lover, it's not making its way here," Stark said, adding that some areas of Long Island may see nothing but light flurries — and, on the East End, there might be little to no snow at all.

The chance of seeing some snow is higher in western Suffolk and Nassau County, Stark said.
All precipitation will be cleared out by evening, Stark said.
Temperatures Monday are expected to hover from 30 to 32 degrees, dropping into the teens Monday night as winds pick up into Tuesday. Tuesday will be cold, with temperatures around 30 to 32 degrees, but wind gusts will make that feel as though it's in the single digits, Stark said.
The week ahead will be "dry but cold," he said.
