LONG ISLAND, NY — Snow could be on the way again for Long Islanders this week — but maybe not as much as expected.

According to David Stark, meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Upton, the only day when snow is forecast for this week is Thursday, and the chances for hefty accumulation are decreasing, he said.

"For the last couple of days, it looked like we were set for a significant snowstorm," he said. "Now, it may just graze us, or be on the light side, with snow showers or flurries."

Light accumulation is expected, with an inch or less, with temperatures Thursday in the upper 20s to about 30 degrees, Stark said.
