Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Side Of Ferry: Police
He crashed into the side of the ferry while disembarking, police say.
SHELTER ISLAND, NY — A Massachusetts man was arrested after crashing his car into the South Ferry while intoxicated, Shelter Island police said.
According to police, Viktor Nikolaevich Butko, 46, of Waltham, MA, collided with the side of the ferry while disembarking at the South Ferry terminal on September 29 at 1:39 a.m.
He was arrested, charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI, and held overnight for arraignment at Shelter Island Justice Court, police said. He was released on his own recognizance and instructed to appear in court at a later date, police said.
