MATTITUCK, NY — It was a joyful homecoming for the Mattituck High School boys' varsity basketball team, who won the Suffolk County championship game Sunday against Port Jefferson High School with a score of 58 to 50.

The Tuckers, along with their coaches Paul Ellwood and Joseph Tardif, were jubilant as they returned to the North Fork, where the community was ready to celebrate the champions.
Horns and sirens blaring, lights flashing, both the Mattituck Fire Department and the Cutchogue Fire Department turned out to escort the Suffolk County Class B Champs back to the high school.
