NFCT Wraps Glorious Run Of 'The Producers,' Gala Saturday, 'Rent' Soon
The theater, a North Fork gem, just wrapped its most incredible show to date. A gala fundraiser's set for Saturday. And "Rent" is up next.

MATTITUCK, NY — The North Fork Community Theatre has been wowing audiences for decades with its incredible performances — with none perhaps quite as exhilarating as the recently wrapped production of "The Producers," a breathtaking and dizzying display of fine acting, laugh-out-loud humor, spot-on direction, cutting-edge choreography, and set design that has seen the bar raised tremendously after significant upgrades were unveiled at the theater in 2019.
Supporting live, local theater has always been critical on the East End but perhaps now, more than ever, as the pandemic shut doors and kept curtains down for long months. Seeing live theater burst back onto East End stages is a gift, and judging by packed houses, the community has come out in force to support efforts.
But help is needed to keep renovations moving forward and infuse the theater with necessary funding.

Next up for the NFCT is a Youth on Stage production of "Rent," the beloved musical by Jonathan Larson.
"Set in the East Village of New York City, 'Rent' is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rent has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages," the NFCT said.
"Rent" will run from July 21 to August 7 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
