LONG ISLAND, NY — With a nor'easter heading to the region this week and 3 to 5 inches of snow forecast for parts of Connecticut, New York and New Jersey, on Long Island, the weather is expected to be more of a washout, with just rain and some light snow on the horizon, according to the National Weather Service.

Bryan Ramsey, meteorologist with the NWS office in Upton, told Patch that rain is expected for the majority of Tuesday.

According to Accuweather.com, some snow could fall but will probably equate to just a coating, with mostly rain in the forecast.
