North Fork Election 2025: Doroski Unseats Stark In Dramatic Legislator Race

NORTH FORK, NY — Greg Doroski unseated his competitor, incumbent Catherine Stark, in a dramatic race for the Suffolk County Legislator, 1st District.
According to unofficial results by the Suffolk County Board of Elections, in the race for Suffolk County Legislature, 1st District, Doroski, a Democrat, as of 10:32 p.m., had garnered 11,219 votes, or 52.09 percent, compared to incumbent Republican Stark, who had 10,311, or 47.88 percent.
The Southold town board race was close, with incumbent Brian Mealy (Democrat) garnering 4,747 votes, or 26.91 percent, and Alexa Seuss, a Democrat, receiving 4,381, or 24.84 percent. Nicholas Planamento, a Republican, had 4,211 votes or 23.87 percent, with Chris Talbot, a Republican, garnering, 4,300 votes, or 24.38 percent.

Denis Noncarrow (Republican) emerged victorious in the race for Southold Town clerk; he garnered 5,222 votes, or 57.63 percent, compared to the 3,840 or 42.37 percent for Abigail Field, a Democrat.
Incumbent Southold Superintendent of Highways and Democrat Dan Goodwin won the race, ahead with 5,278 votes, or 58.04 percent, with Greg Schlachter, a Republican coming in with 3,814 votes or 41.94 percent.
In another nail biter race for Southold Town Assessor Dana Forlenza, a Democrat, had 4,237 votes, or 24.34 percent; Leah Sullivan, a Democrat, had 4,335, or 24.90 percent; Republican Ken Poliwoda had 4,531 votes, or 26.03 percent; and Charles Sanders, a Republican, had 4,305 percent, or 24.73 percent.

In the race for Southold Town Trustee, Eric Sepenoski, a Democrat, received 4,894 votes, or 18.59 percent; Liz Gillooly, a Democrat, received 4,726, or 17.95 percent; Joseph Finora, a Democrat, received 4,586, or 17.42 percent; Nathan Andruski, a Republican, received 4,153 votes, or 15.77 percent; Terri Boyle Romanelli, a Republican, received 3,982, or 15.12 percent; and Pindar Damianos, a Republican, received 3,990 votes, or 15.15 percent.
