NORTH FORK, NY — Hearts were broken on the North Fork Tuesday at the loss of Kathie Cibulski, 56.
Kathie Cibulski of Laurel died on Tuesday, August 1, leaving behind scores of heartbroken friends, family members and the community that she served selflessly for years as a member of the Cutchogue Fire Department, where she was known as the sole woman in the pit at the beloved annual chicken barbecue for years, always serving up dinners with a bright smile.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 4 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, where Cutchogue Fire Department Firematic Services will take place during the visitation.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 5 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck.
The Rite of Committal will be private.
