Peconic Landing Certified As 'Great Place To Work'

GREENPORT, N.Y., September 4, 2024 — Peconic Landing has been officially certified as a "Great Place to Work."
Peconic Landing said that 89 percent of its team members affirm that the life plan senior living community is a "great place to work, significantly surpassing the 57 percent average approval rating for typical U.S.-based companies," according to the Great Place to Work® global team member engagement study.
The certification highlights the facility's "dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture," Peconic Landing said.

According to the Great Place to Work website, this recognition signifies a "high level of trust and consistent team member experience, focusing on five key dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and a sense of belonging. These elements ensure that leadership is transparent and fair, fostering an environment where team members feel valued and connected."
A not-for-profit organization, the community first opened its doors 2002 and is the second-largest employer in the Town of Southold, with more than 320 team members, Peconic Landing said.

According to Peconic Landing, highlights from the Great Place to Work survey indicate:
• 92 percent of team members feel welcome when they join the organization.
• 91 percent feel they make a difference at Peconic Landing.
• 91 percent experience a sense of pride in their accomplishments.
• 91 percent are proud to tell others they work at Peconic Landing.
• 91 percent feel good about the ways Peconic Landing contributes to the community.
"Our focus has always been on creating a work environment where team members feel supported and appreciated," said Jane Willsey, vice president of human resources. "The high scores in areas such as pride, community contribution, and making a difference are a testament to the amazing people we have here at Peconic Landing. We are thrilled to receive this recognition and will continue to strive for excellence in all that we do."
The comprehensive benefits program, Peconic Landing said, includes health insurance, dental and vision plans, life insurance, long- and short-term disability, paid time off, tuition assistance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with matching funds. Peconic Landing also has a "Working Wonders" program that promotes work-life balance and wellness through positive lifestyle behaviors. Team members enjoy free access to the gym and pool, team fitness classes, and healthy lunch options on a daily basis. The community’s "teamwork" organizes team events such as golf outings, pickleball lessons, seasonal contests, volunteer opportunities, and more.
The community will be hosting a Hiring Fair at Brecknock Hall on Thursday, September 26 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
