VIDEO: Tree Branch Spears Mattituck Roof

Mattituck resident Mike Burke has a new view in his Brower's Woods neighborhood — a huge tree branch literally speared through the roof and ceiling of his living room, creating a mess.

Burke, who said that he and his wife would stay in the house while awaiting insurance adjustment and repair, was not the only one in heavily-wooded areas of Mattituck and the whole of the North Fork to experience extensive roof damage and long-term power outages after Tropical Storm Irene. The Brower's Woods neighborhood remains without power as of late Tuesday morning.
