Wind Advisory In Effect Across Long Island Thursday, Friday

LONG ISLAND, NY — A wind advisory is in effect for Long Island Thursday night and Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
The wind advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Thursday night until 4 p.m. Friday, the NWS said.
West winds of 20 to 25 miles, with 45 to 50 mile per hour gusts, are expected, the NWS said.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down ,and a few power outages may result," the NWS said. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution."
Outdoor objects should be secured, the NWS said.
