NORTHPORT, NY — Jane and Bean, 11-month-old bonded sisters, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.

The pair was rescued from a neighborhood as kittens who were trying to make it on their own, said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the shelter.

"A group of kind ladies saw them and reached out to NCRA," Wild said.

The two felines had other siblings with them who have since been adopted, according to Wild.

"Jane and Bean were very nervous and went to a special foster mom who is great with breaking down the walls of our nervous kittens," she said. "It didn’t take long for Jane and Bean to show their true personalities. They love to play, purr, are very affectionate, love their people and get along great with other cats too! Their favorite thing to do is keep their favorite human warm on cold nights by snuggling up on their lap."

The pair just arrived at Petco Huntington and are curled up underneath some blankets because the "first few nights are always the hardest," Wild said.

"They are confused and scared. Rest assured, they are the sweetest kitties once they are in a home setting feeling safe, secure and loved. They just need a chance."

Jane and Bean are spayed, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.

If you are interested in meeting Jane and Bean, you may head to the Northport Cat Rescue website and fill out an application to let them know you would like to meet them or any of the rescue's other wonderful kittens and cats.
