Christmas parades — often complete with Santa Claus, festively decorated floats and marching bands — are a holiday tradition, both nationally and locally.
Several big parades are taking place this year, including the Mayor’s Annual Christmas Parade in Baltimore City, Maryland; and the Christmas Boat Parade in Newport Beach, California.
While local parades may not match those in scale, there is still one in the Town of Huntington.
- 12th Annual Huntington "Holiday Express" Parade
- 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26.
- Where: The parade will kick off from the Big H Shopping Center on New York Avenue and will proceed north to Main Street and then west on Main Street to West Neck Road.
- More: The festivities will include a performance by Sal "The Voice" Valentinetti, the Electric Light Parade Procession, the Wall Street Tree Lighting, and a visit from Santa Claus.
Correction: An earlier version of this story mentioned the Target Holidazzle Parade in Minneapolis, which is not a parade but rather a collection of holiday-themed events.
