Cops: DWI Arrest, Trouble With Boyfriend's Wife, Irate Customer

Wednesday, Jan. 31

At 11:30 p.m., police received a complaint that a person on Fifth Avenue made statements about taking their shared child to an abuse shelter in the morning. The complainant was concerned this was not a good environment for the child. Police said that if the child was not in direct danger, there was no action that could be taken.

At 2:18 p.m., Syed Ali, 28, of Dix Hills, was arrested and charged with DWI and aggravated DWI after he was pulled over for speeding and failing to signal a turn on Fort Salonga Road.

At 12:24 p.m., police responded to a report of a domestic incident on Maple Avenue.

Saturday, Feb. 3

At 8:30 a.m., a woman reported to police that her boyfriend’s wife was in her driveway, honking her horn and creating a disturbance on Prospect Avenue. She said the woman showing up to the apartment and creating problems has been an ongoing issue as her boyfriend and his wife are going through a divorce.

Tuesday, Feb. 6

At 8:21 a.m., police received a report of an irate customer refusing to leave Tim’s Shipwreck Diner on Main Street. Police say the person left the restaurant before they arrived.
